Really interesting question.
This thought has always been there in ,my mind and the solution was always evading me as I had seen that 31 Lakh NGO’/s , Thousands of crores of monetary help, lakhs of crores of Funding Drought projects, Flood projects, MSP, Tax concessions – the list is unending and one is still discussing this problem poverty.
Significantly it hit me. Pouring Billions of Liters of perfume into the sewage will never make the “poop” smell any better – something has to be done – YES set up a sewage treatment plant and get the expertise from countries which are successfully using sewage treatment to reduce their PURE WATER consumption and also using the waste as fertiliser. This means that instead of wasting Billions of liters of perfume I could clean up my clogged drains easily!
Then it set me thinking – another significant thought was thought in spite of all the efforts of the successive governments our GARIBI HATAO remained a slogan and then _EUREKA – it hit me .
DEVELOPMENT ! DEVELOPMENT! DEVELOPMENT!
How did this bright idea strike me – was it original- OH NO! the US under FDR had undermined my thoughts- During the great depression FDR said we DO NOT HAVE MONEY, the people are suffering so how do I solve it — WEELLL! let us start connecting the US EWNS- and the great highways of the US which entrances and entices all our middle class to leave India and run were built!
What was the remuneration; Food, Shelter and minimum wages and the US not only came out of the depression BUT BECAME A HUGE ROARING ECONOMY!
NOW! NOW! where do I find the missing link – Build bridges; Build Toll roads; Build tunnels: Build freightways; Build , Build, Build and keep building which means Food, Shelter, minimum wages and nobody GOES HUNGRY!
I pour my money into Concrete, Cement, Steel, Stomachs of the poor rather than the DRAIN!
